Home Sweet Home October 15, 2006
I’m HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wowzers, that totally deserved a lot of exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes, more than usual!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad to be home. I was gone almost a full week but for some reason it seemed like so much longer…I wonder why??………hmmm….who knows!!!
Family camp at Big Sandy was SO much fun y’all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Practically our whole church went which was nice. It’s these kinds of trips that you actually have time to visit with people you seem to miss on Sundays, catch up with old friends and make new friends that you’ve really known of your whole life but failed to “knowâ€!!!!!!!!!!!!
Melanie and I stayed with Chris and Catherine Overby (Formerly Catherine Perkins) and that was a complete blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kronk and Krinkle, it was GREAT!!!!!!!!!! What a hospitable couple!!!!!!!!! It was also good to have the rest of the Perkins there as well, including the famous Sarah Perky, the very Queen of Perkiness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We did so much and I have to say that I am sore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heh heh heh!!!!! Tons of walking, biking, canoeing, paddle boating, rappelling. Oh y’all, I LOVE rappelling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must admit though, the first time I went up to the 44ft. high tower, I was slightly scared. Ok, I was completely scared!!!!!!!!!!!!! The ground was waaaaaaayyyyyyy down there, and it didn’t help that the ALERT guys were offering lots of horror stories and all of the “this could go wrong and that could go wrong, but you should be fine†comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JIMMINY CRICKET!!!!!!!!!!!! But hey, I figured if all these little kids no higher than my waist could it, so could I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After the first time down, it was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went back for more….and more….and more!!!!!!!! Before long Katie and I were pushing way off the tower and swinging way out!!!!! Yep, total pro’s…….riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Screaming all the time….(Well, I was) Can’t you just see it??? LOL
It was a great trip and it was wonderful to get away from the hustle bustle!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, it’s back to work!!!!!!! Actually, I teach full days during the early part of this week but come Wednesday we (Laura, Kristin, Jon and Me) are headed to Arkansas to tour the great Eagle Mountain Training Center and camp, hike, fish, spend time with friends and pretty much do whatever else pops into our head.
The question for this trip: Will Josh and Tim get Erin on a four wheeler?????? Hmmmmmmmm………..I don’t know. That just frightens me to tell you the truth!!!!!!!!!!! We’ll see…….I really doubt it though. Is a little fun worth possible tragedy and……dare I say…….death????????? (I know, I’m probably being too dramatic, but those things have NEVER set right with me!!!!!) I even prayed some four wheelers out of commission once!!!!!!!! Do those work yet or not Jordan???? Heh heh heh!!!!!!
Oh man alive, it got cooooooooooold at Big Sandy. I have come to the conclusion that I DO NOT like cold weather. “Lord please DO NOT let me marry a Yankee and move to the North………….for more reasons than one………….Amen!!!!!!!!!” (Sorry any of you who have had the misfortune of being Yankee’s…..and any derogatory comments on this subject will be promptly deleted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

In the middle of the night….
Me: *Apparently coughing a lot in my sleep*
Melanie: “Erin……Erin……Erin, wake up!!!!!”
Me: *Moaning*
Melanie: “You’re coughing a lot, drink some of this water.”
Me: *Still out of it* “It won’t work!!!”
*Drinking some of the water*
*Coughing stops….back to sleep.*
Next morning……
Melanie: “The water worked last night!!”
Me: “Huh??”
Melanie: *Explains story*
Me: “You’re kidding!!” *Didn’t remember a thing*
Makes you wonder what all goes on in your sleep huh??? LOL This can’t be good!!!!!!

It was a good week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I must needs go unpack, do laundry, reply to emails, catch up on some CMT stuff, eat some cookies, talk to Kristin (Whom I have not talked to in a week!!!!!!!!!! I’m having serious withdrawals!!!!!!!!!!) and last but not least, go to bed!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, one more thing: those of you who care, I am switching from “Oh for corn’s sake” to “Oh for pickle’s sake”. Corn was getting old!!!!!! So no more mimicking my “Oh for corn’s sake” phrase……got it????!!!!!!!Ok, now you know!!!! Heh heh!!
Goodnight folks and lots of love-
Lady Lizzy
Hey! I’m glad you had a good time at Big Sandy! Now, for pickles sake, I want to know how cold is Cold for you?
Love you!!! Freezing in Seattle, ME : )
ps. Go for the four-wheelers girl!
Hey Gal, I’m SO glad you were able to come to family camp!!!!!!!! It wouldn’t have been the same without you at ALL. I can’t believe you’re leaving again WITHOUT ME so soon. I’m tempted to be TOTALLY jealous, but I think I’ll have to get over it and plow into work here ALL ALONE. *Sigh* I guess I probably won’t see you before you leave, so say “HI” to fall for me, and bring me back a leaf…ok?
Love ya!
Twirly
You stayed with Chris and Catherine? Not fair. Chris has been a brother/uncle to me since I were born. Or at least ever since I could remember.
Four wheelers aren’t that bad. Good grief. If you can rappel, you can get on a four wheeler.
Both four-wheelers ARE back in commission, although I haven’t had too many chances to use them. So far, I haven’t broken the “code”…although I’ve come close
Of course, I was riding on the slower of the two four-wheelers, so we’ll see what happens when I get on the fast one.
Btw, Josh and Tim WILL get you on a four-wheeler. I have no doubt of it. You just thought rappelling was fun…(wink)…woo-wee!
LOL, y’all are so funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hannah dear, you must remember that live in HOUSTON TEXAS, so cold to me is 40!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Oh my dearest Twirly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish SOOOOOOO much you could come too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will miss you. I’m not used to being away from you for so long big sis!!! I will get you a beautiful leaf, and I’ll call you!!!!!!
Kevin, I had no idea you knew Chris!!!!! Cool. He is SUCH an awesome guy and I felt really protected staying with them…he was always looking out for us. I know I SHOULD be able to get on a four wheeler, but they’ve always scared me!!!!!!!!!!!! :-/ Anyway, I guess I’ll see you soon!!
Jordan Flournoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m going to have to start praying again!!!!!!!!! JK!!!!! If you keep the “code”, then I won’t pray against your four wheelers!!!!!!!! Remember Sir Jordanus……….
