116???????? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! April 24, 2007
Ok, so it wasn’t THAT bad!!!!! But I was kind of disappointed when they put me in the big kid room vs. the baby room tonight. However, when we went past the baby room and I realized none of “my babies” came tonight anyway, it was all good. I’ll see them tomorrow night!!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!
So, in the big kid room………..ages 5-10……….yeah. Wow. I think I was getting a migraine after being in there for five minutes. Those kids were so loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And, they won’t listen for anything!!!!!!!!!!! I’d say, hey guys, are you gonna listen for a minute??? One little guy said, what’ll ya give us to shut up??? Good heavens. I am amazed at kids these days. They’re sooo……ummmm….hmm, what’s the word??? Well, they’re just wise to the ways of world and not much I can say or do amuses them or gets their attention. Until I got slightly wild and started chasing them and playing with them of course. That helped. After that I was “fun”. *smile* Yeah, it pretty much hurt my foot but I ignored it. I got tackled four times, that was fun………..in a purely painful way!! *smile*
Savanna was in there with me tonight. I don’t think it’s necessarily the best thing for the two of us to be in the same room. Nope, I wouldn’t have done that at all. *smile* Oh man, we were sitting at the table with these kids coloring and painting and such. This one little girl was going on and on and on about how smart she was and how she’d passed this and that test. Well, Savanna said………..
Savanna: I never passed that test………
Little Girl: What??!!??!?! It’s like you have to pass it to move to the third grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Savanna: Oh, that must be why I’m still in pre-k!!
Me: Yeah and that explains why I never got past kindergarten!!!!!!
Little Girl: Excuse me?? You’re not serious.
Me: Oh, yes we are. But I can read pretty well……..
Savanna: Me too….see?? *pointing to my CMT shirt* C O L………
Little Girl: Uhhh, no. It says CMT - Children’s Ministries of Texas. Hmm, there’s no O. You don’t need the “of” in there….
She was so serious and matter of fact…….Savanna and I had to turn away and just laugh at this point. Apparently because it wasn’t CMOT, she didn’t thing the “of” belonged in there. It does make sense if you think about it with pure logic like she was. So this went on for awhile and after looking at us very skeptically she said, Ok girls, drop the act. LOL Oh man…….we were in stitches!!!!!!
After running ourselves like crazy we put in a movie to watch until the parents came back. Well, they were watching Charlotte’s Web and when Templeton, the rat came out, one little five year girl said, That rat has an attitude!!!!!!! LOL Kids are SO funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile*
Well, it was a fun night, but very long and very tiering!!!!!!
Allow me to say: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Paw-Paw Wayne and my brother dear, David!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love y’all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile*
Here are some pictures….enjoy!!! *smile*
*Side Note* Savanna and I only played one game of air hockey, the rest of the time we really did work, cross my heart!!!!!!!! But when I got home and looked at the pictures the kids took, I realized I was biting my lip while I played. LOL I didn’t know I actually did that….I mean I know I do sometimes, but now, since I didn’t know I was doing it tonight I wonder how many other times I do it and don’t know it. Ohhh well!! *smile*
*Side Note 2* I was hanging upside down on the playground and Jordan came up and stood on my knees. Yep ANOTHER Jordan!!!!! Go figure. He was a blast though, we had a great time!!!!! *smile*
*Side note 3* The gal on both mine and Savanna’s back in the two pictures is the really smart one who told us to drop the act. lol She was A MESS!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile*
*Side Note 4* I hope you enjoy my beautiful art work!!! It took me a long time to make…..art is so fun, wow. Ok, ok, ok!!!!!!!!!! Actually, if the truth be known I just wanted to put my hands in the ink!!!!! I think Savanna saw that look in my eyes when I saw that gigantic ink pad and paper!!!! Heh heh heh!!!!!!!!! *smile* But, I did bring it home and show my Mom and we put it on the fridge. Yes we did. *smile*
*Side Note 5* There was this way cool game in the playroom. Oh man, it was hard though. Those kids had it down and when I tried, well, it was hard!!! It was like tetras, sort of. You had to stand on this thing and watch the TV screen. All these shapes would fall down and you had to step on the right square to get the shape before it hit the ground. I don’t even think that makes sense, but it was hard, that’s all I can say. And that’s what the pictures are of me doing the weird thing. *smile*
*End Side Notes*
