Chapter 1010… April 23, 2007
Today was a loooooooooooooooooooooong day. I am completely emotionally exhausted and my head is splitting. Ugh. It was a good day though. After church I was up at the piano practicing some music and watching my little guy (Neal) run around all over. Under pews, in between pews, crawling, walking, running, on and on. He was so cute and a lovely distraction.
After the practice I said “Come see Auntie buddy”…..he ran over. I said “Whatcha doing?” He said, “Neal playin church!!!!!!!!” lol I said, “Do you want Auntie to take you outside??” He smiled, raised his eyebrows and said very loudly in that adorable high baby voice, “AUNTIE ERIN TAKE NEAL OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Squeaking the last word…..SO cute!!!!!!!!!!!! So, I did. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO beautiful outside and I met up with baby Annie on the way out…..so she came too!!!!
On the playground we found some other little cuties and since I was out there, I ended up watching all of them for awhile so their guardians could go run do “this” and “that”….lol. It was a really great way to spend my Sunday afternoon. I was in a sappy-sad-sentimental mood today and being with the precious little ones suited my mood perfectly. They were ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! We took pictures, played with lady bugs, tried to resist the temptation to throw rocks lest Auntie make them “go inside”, and played “house”. Neal was the boss…..commanding Michelle to “Mow the grass” and then came “Go inside Michelle!!!!! It’s RAINING!!!!!!!!!!!!” lol Sigh….I love it, I love it, I absolutely love those little people….each one with a personality and flare and distinction. *smile*
Anyway, sitting on that playground brought back so many memories. Memories of being eight years old and playing house in there myself…fighting the great war between the boys and the girls for years. You’ll be happy to know we all get along beautifully now. *smile* Sigh, everyone is growing up and scattering….everything is changing. Sometimes I thnk it’d be so nice to return to those old days and be kids again….maybe even for just one day….
Anyway, Kristin came out and I said “Kristin, this is my church…….this is where I grew up you know??? So many memories……these are the dearest people. Oh………I love each of them!!!!” I was getting teary. It was just one of those days. I love watching everyone play volleyball and games, little ones running all over, Mom’s visiting, Dad’s inspecting the construction for the new buildings, everyone getting along and laughing and loving each other. It’s such a great picture. We are SO blessed beyond measure!!!!!! *smile*
