Our ATLANTA Adventure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May 12, 2007
Ok, because I’m really tired I’ll be brief…..I know, you don’t believe me!!!! I mean brief for me!!!!!!!! *smile* Well, here we go……our weekend as it happened:
-Who needs sleep??? Not us!!!!!!!!!!!!! We stayed up all night getting things ready to go for the trip on Tuesday night and hit the road at 4:30am. Hey, why get an hour of sleep and then have to get up, I mean really???!?!?!? Thus began the adventure. The trip started with lots of laughs and promised early on to be an unforgettable time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile* Our drive was VERY VERY fun and thankfully safe as well!!!!! *smile*
-We arrived in Atlanta on Wednesday night around 8:30pm and found Joey obliviously eating dinner at Chick-Fil-A. We marched in and waltzed up to his table. Heh heh. You should have seen the look on his face. Totally blank. Reality hits. Eyes widen. Smile forms. Jumping from chair to give lots of hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile* Chick-Fil-A closed so we borrowed their parking lot to converse in for a couple more hours. Let me just say it’s been a long while since I have laughed that much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile* THAT was a fun night!!!! We gals got back to the James’ house and settled in for some long over-due girl talk……it lasted all night, of course!!!! There was a lot to talk about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-We slept in some the next morning and then got up since the guys were headed for the house!!!! So, the guys arrived and we enjoyed a very laid back, simple time gathered around chatting and laughing, and then singing together. Sigh. I love singing with y’all guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve missed it SO much!!!!!!!!!!! It did my heart good to hear Joey and Charissa sing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great time!!!!!!! We had an early dinner and then went to get ready for Joey’s “college” graduation. *big wink* Graduation was great and I think we managed to cheer VERY loudly when Joey’s name was called!!!!!!!!!!!!!! “Atta boy JOEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” lol After the ceremony it was off to Joey’s house for a WONDERFUL get together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my, SO FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My stomach muscles were very sore from laughing so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think the gals got back to Charissa’s house around 2am. We settled in for bed and realized that, well, what do you know, we had more to talk about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just as the sun peered through the bedroom window we drifted off to sleep. . . .
-An hour later my alarm sounded. *smile* Time to get up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was roller coaster time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We hadn’t been on one since they shut down Astroworld a few years ago. *frown* Needless to say we miss it terribly and especially missed our homeschool day!!!!!!! Well, amazingly enough it was homeschool day on Friday at Six Flags over Georgia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So off we went!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With all the excitement and adrenalin I don’t think we realized we hadn’t slept but a few hours in the past three days!!!!!! “Astroworld”, (”Six Flags over Georgia”….we kept calling it Astroworld much to the dismay of the Atlanta/Braves fans we were with!!!! Oops…..) was FABULITASTICALLY INCREDIBLY SPLENDIFEROUSLY WONDERMOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile* TOO much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After Six Flags we all went to eat. I completely sacked out as soon as we got in the van and slept all the way home. Back at Charissa’s we decided that we’d take a quick nap since the guys had gone home to shower before coming over for root beer floats….I fell across my air mattress and was out in 5 seconds - still in my clothes, jewelry and everything. lol The guys took their time and I was able to get a few hours of sleep before they got there. We had a great night with root beer floats, more singing, a rousing game of “What if…”, magic by Joey that we STILL CAN’T FIGURE OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Joey, we had to analyze it half the trip home and still have no clue how you were doing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL *smile* The night of course included lots of laughs as well!!!!!!!! After talking about it we decided rather than go to bed at 3am and try to leave by 5am we might as well just go ahead and drive through the night, so after some not so fun goodbyes, six tired, but happy people loaded up and pointed toward our glorious TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile*
-It was a quieter trip home than the drive there but not without it’s jokes, laughs, movies and talks!!!!! We stopped at Big Sandy to bring Haley home with us. We’ve come to the conclusion that we now have a definite siblingish relationship with those who went. *smile* A very fun, but perhaps slightly dangerous combination. We can now read each other’s minds and have entirely too many “inside jokes” and “phrases” that can be said at any moment for a wide range of reactions!!!!!!!!! lol *smile* Sigh. Yep, it was FANTASTICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of my favorite lines from the trip:

I tried to narrow them down but they’re all my favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Not really, but you know!!!!!!!!! So, pop some popcorn, get yourself a drink and settle in for some serious picture viewing!!!! 9) There’s two kinds of words–inside words and outside words. That time some inside words got outside. Gobble gobble!
OOps that was supposed to be #8 instead of the smilie, but the smilie works too!!
LOL that’s GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh and it’s “Did you see that sky today? Talk about blue” not ’soooooooooo blue’ or whatever. Just a small correction as well as we got there at 9:30 not 8:30
Ok I fixed it and we arrived in Atlanta at 8:30 though by the time we got to Joey it was around 9:30……so that’s why I put that……
For crying out loud. Are we picky or what?
hey, if you had been there, you would know that details are important. There is so much to be told and yet it wouldn’t be the same since they weren’t there. Bummer, everyone totally missed out. We have GOT to do it again.
Oh my word!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have to!!!!!!!!!! That was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAHA I love how every time I check this there are more quotes added to the best sayings of the trip!!! LOL
I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There’s SO many!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like a ton of fun!! That’s a boring drive unless you’ve got friends together - and then wow, I bet it went pretty fast (relatively speaking). hehehe
Megan looks so funny in that top picture! lol
I like that shoe, it looks extremely cool!
Yeah I wonder whose shoe that is….?
Wow it’s BURNT ORANGE…
OH my! I can SOOO see this post happening… So funny that I haven’t met you, but can still vividly imagine it happening. =D I’ll none of you will EVER forget that Blank Look Moment!!! What a delightful trip!! Makes me tired just to think of it, though…
