The bigish black bug and the nail polish remover… May 16, 2007

Last night I was on the phone with my cousin and I started squealing. She asked me what was wrong and I said I think there’s a bug on me!!!!!!!!!! Well, it was funny because she has just finished telling me about finding a millipede and it scaring her half to death and her screaming (runs in the family *wink*) and her boyfriend laughing at her. Why do guys think that’s so funny??? Hump, I get laughed at too!!!!!!! But it’s serious!!!!!!!! We’re talking bugs here!!!!!!!!!!!!! YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I’m squealing and trying to see if there’s a bug on me and I realize, thank goodness, that it’s just my hair. Heh heh heh. I’m not used to having hair long enough to scare me!! *smile* So we finish talking and hang up at some point in the middle of the night…not really, just 2am….*smile*

Well, I’m not feeling good and because of that, I’m also having a hard time sleeping so I decide to read. Well, there I am reading and I hear something. Something flying. Something flying in MY bedroom. OH HORRORS. Not tonight. I’m really not in the mood to deal with bug visitors. Botheration. Where are guys when you need them???? Gone or asleep, that’s where!!!!!!!! So, I look up to see what kind of creature I’m dealing with, although I really just wanted to put my head under the covers,. Well, I look and I see I bigish black bug flying overhead. UGH!!!!!!! I put my hand over my mouth and scream as quietly as I can since everyone was in bed.

Now, this is strange, but I’m strange so hey!! Sometimes bugs do not bother me in the least….at all….don’t phase me. I’m fine. I can kill them, be around them and it’s no big deal. Other times though, I freak out. They bother me, scare me and I can’t deal with them. Weird huh?? I guess it depends on what day it is, who knows. Well, last night I was great disturbed by this bug……

What on earth was I going to do??? There was no way I was turning off the light or sleeping with that thing alive and making itself at home in my personal, private, no bugs allowed bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The nerve of some bugs. *shaking head* So, there I sat, in my bed, looking at the unwelcome visiting bug and trying to think of some brilliant way to catch it. It kept flying around and around and I was completely dumbfounded as to how to handle this frightening situation. I usually find something and take care of it asap, but last night I was totally out of it and sick and could not contrive a way to make that thing what it should be, dead.

So while I sat, it flew, here and there landing on something and then flying some more and then IT HAPPENED. That horrid, disgusting bigish black creature landed on MY bed. MY bed people. Ok, this bug had crossed the line. I let out a sort of squealish moan and slowly, carefully got out of my bed and walked to the other side of the room. That’s it, I had to make a decision here. I had to get rid of this thing. It could not make it’s home for the night on MY bed.

So, I walked slowly over to my bed, picked up my fuzzy blanket resting on the foot of my bed and threw it on top of my bug visitor before it decided to fly off again. I walked back to the other side of the room, opened the door behind me that led to the bathroom with my eye on the bug, or blanket rather, with the bug under it……once I was safely in the bathroom I looked around for something to help me dispose of the creature. I didn’t want to get a tissue and squish it because I can’t do that. The whole squishing the bug in a tissue thing makes me want to scream and go bazurko.

So, I’m looking………ah ha!! What I needed was a cup or something to put on top of it to keep it from going anywhere and then I could just cover it up and maybe it would die by morning. Well, there was no cup….hmmmm……ah ha!!!! I spotted a bottle of nail polish remover on the bathroom shelf. I could use the lid to catch that bug!!!!!!! Oh but then how would I keep the bug in the lid and how would it die??? OH I KNOW!!!!!!!!!! I unscrewed the lid, took a cotton ball and covered it in nail polish remover. I think this stuff could kill a bug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Armed and ready for the task that lie ahead, I made my way carefully back into my room. There was the blanket with the infamous creature beneath. I slowly lifted the blanket and saw the creature sitting there, happy as you please, on MY bed. Ugh. That just irritated me. So, I quickly put the nail polished remover lid on top of the bug and got the cotton ball ready. I flipped the lid up so the bug would go inside and quickly stuck the soaked cotton ball on top!!!!!!!!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha *wicked laugh* With two fingers and far away from the rest of me I carried the lid, bug and cotton ball into the bathroom. I let it sit there for a minute or two before daring to raise the cotton ball. There, in the nail polish remover lid lay the bigish black creature with nerve, completely dead…..not mostly dead, completely and fully dead. I was so happy, so relieved, so………satisfied. I know, I’m terrible. But that thing had crossed the line. He should have kown better than to enter my personal living space. Hopefully he’s better off now in bigish black bug heaven…..but who cares??!?!?!? He’s not in my room anymore. Sigh.
