IMPACT for Women 2007 July 19, 2007

Wow. Where do I even start????????? The fact that I was even able to work it out and go was a miracle in the first place. Eagle Mountain Training Center, in Berryville Arkansas is one of the most beautiful places I have been to. I love it there and this year they decided to hold one of the IMPACT conferences for us gals!!!!!!! They do them for the guys every year so it was awesome to hear about one for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went, desperately needing to get away from it all and focus only on my walk with the Lord. I needed to be fed, refreshed and redirect my focus on where I was headed with the Lord. You know how life tends to pick up speed and it moves faster and faster and faster until you feel like you’re about to crash???? Yeah, that was life at the moment.

I don’t know about most of you but I have a hard time setting aside time and being still long enough to hear the voice of the Lord when I’m at home with a million things going on, conferences coming up, piano students to teach and many other responsibilities starring me in the face…so, Megan and I packed our bags and set out for a grand adventure that we were both in great need of!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile*

It would seriously take me all day to share with you all the things the Lord had the speakers share with us but so much of it was exactly what I needed to hear. I don’t think a day went by when there were not tears shed or sweet time with the Lord. I was inspired, challenged and given new vision for my walk with Christ.

There was a young lady from the Eagle Springs staff who taught one day. She spoke on being a disciple, but it was a bit different than I’ve ever heard before. She spoke mostly from the book of John and it was so amazing!!!!!! She is so passionate and genuine and her testimony was just incredible. Her walk with the Lord is so real, and it shows!!!!!!!!!!!! She was able to show me in a real way what it can be like on a day to day basis if you are truly one with Christ and following Him completely. She talked about the fact that a disciple was one that left the crowd and the excitement, even if it was a good or beneficial thing, to simply sit at the feet of the Master. Jesus’ disciples left the crowd of people and followed Jesus to the quiet place on the mountain and just sat at His feet….I can see that there are times that the Lord is calling me to leave the crowd, draw away and sit at His feet…

She also brought out how many times in the book of John that it talks about Jesus saying, “I speak only the things my Father tells me” and “I do only the things my Father tells me”. Jesus’ ministry might have seemed short or not fruitful enough to others looking at it and it certainly wouldn’t seem like a successful ministry in today’s society but that when He was finished He said, “I have done the work that my Father sent me to do…” That’s all that matters. What others see looking on doesn’t mean anything. We have to be doing only what the Father tells us to do and not worry about anyone else. All He has called us to do is follow Him and when we do that, the action (the “doing”) of service and ministry will naturally follow and it will be exactly the service and ministry HE has called us to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we want to go deeper with the Lord it’s going to require spending large amounts of time with Him, in His Word. However, that is NOT what makes us spiritual….just because we have long quiet times or long periods of time with the Lord doesn’t mean we’re spiritual or holy. We are spiritual because if we have received Him, we have the Spirit of Christ living within us…….anyway, that’s just the over view and I can’t say it like she did but it was so enlightening and amazing. I know it’s probably stuff we’ve heard before but somehow when it’s the right time and the right person and the right presentation, proceeding other right messages at the right time it feels new and very real. I hope that made sense!!!! *smile*

Ok, here are some pictures from the week. Sara Quinnett, a gal from church was there and she is an INCREDIBLE photographer. She wanted to take every girl’s picture and it was so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She did an amazing job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO SARA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile*

*Side Note* We stopped and had dinner with Kevin and Brian on our way up. We took more pictures but all of them were blurry. Bother. It was raining too, so we sat outside at Starbucks, in the rain and talked. Heh heh heh. Rain’s kinda fun….at least when you’re with friends!!!!!!!!! *smile*

*Side Note 2* Just us gals hanging out in our room…..shall we say “el natural”???? I think we must!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile*
