A camping they did go…. August 4, 2007

I’m not sure where the idea actually came from to start with. We were sitting in Mel’s room last week talking about being little and making tents and I guess it just developed just as many of our ideas tend to do….going from one stage to the next and usually ending with, “Well, it was a good idea anyway!!!!!!!” However, unlike many of the other ideas, this one actually came to be!!!!!!!! *smile*

Me: We’re having a camp-out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mel: Or a camp-in rather……..

Yes, we camped. In Mel’s room. We made our tent, hung up pretty lights, got our s’more fixings together, and put on the ever awesome computer sound effects needed for any great camp-in. We had crickets and owls for the night time and switched to cheerful birds this morning. We were set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mel: We have a mattress that will fit in here…

Beth: But what’ll we put on it??? All the sheets are on the ceiling!!!!!!!

*moving mattress into tent….no easy job, but we did it.*

Ames: Wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! We forgot the box-springs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *

Beth dressed up to play the part of “Dad” on our camp-in and let’s just say she did her part well. We put on our camp shirts, (Mr. Bogner’s camp shirts if the truth be known) ate our s’mores, sang campfire songs and told……..*whispering*………ghost stories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *shudder* It was very frightening!!!!!!! I was scared……..ish. Mel has a wild imagination let me tell you. *smile* So between “Twas the night before St. Patty’s Day and all through the tent”, monsters with big teeth that steal steak and tan vans and doesn’t tip, ghosts with chains that turn out to be a janitor and a man looking for his Bonnie Lassie, it was a great night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *smile*
