The Lakehouse. . . April 26, 2008
I feel like I haven’t really and truly updated on my life in a while. I guess because I haven’t. Ha. Ok…that would make sense. Well, it’s been a very rough few weeks…months….year. Yeah, it’s been a very rough year…actually, maybe more like two years. Anyway, 90% of it is my fault but it doesn’t make it any easier. *big sigh* I’ve kind of been a mess for those of you who can’t tell. Something’s gotta give. Maybe it has to be me. I don’t know. I’ve got some things I need to work out and I have some big decisions to make in the near future. You can be praying for me…I don’t foresee them being easy ones. Ok…I have no idea why I’m going off on all that. Sooooo, the lakehouse!!! *smile*
It all started with a simple email asking what I was up to this weekend. Amazingly enough, nothing. Every weekend since I can remember and as far as I can see ahead is full. This weekend, nothing. So, with hardly any notice it was planned and we were going. How awesome. *smile*
We’ve been at an amazing and beautiful lakehouse all weekend. Savanna and Jane are graduating this year. So, to celebrate this momentous occasion as well as get away and have some much needed down time, Hannah rented her sister’s lakehouse and we set off. After a nice drive through some pretty country we arrived at a very funny and quaint little restaurant right on the coast. The name of this place was “Tuttle’s Crusty Pelican”. It was SO FUNNY!!! It was a total blast!!!!!!!
The we went to the house and got settled. It is so lovely. Right on the lake and less than two miles from the coast, not only were we were able to enjoy relaxing at the house and have fun with all the things there, but we could drive down to the beach as well.
Our weekend has included lots of giggles, games of twister, jumping on the trampoline, swinging in the tire swing, lying on the pier, talking and star gazing, “playing” in the water and awesome waves at the beach, lying on the sand in the sun, watching movies, climbing trees, dancing, sitting on an almost completely perfect porch swing (something I especially loved & had a very good cry on as a matter of fact.) and we even made some time for a little sleep. Needless to say it’s been so great and I’m not ready to return to reality. Ahh well…great memories!!!!
